Snap Shots
Filed Under (technical, tools) by admin on 18-09-2007
I found a little code that lets users preview web links before clicking on them.
I am a bit of tech nerd, so I very much like this sort of gadgets. I think it could be a nice add-on to the blog although it might clutter up the whole site. It is a test, so if people do not like it, it can always be removed.
Note that these links are not affiliate ones. They are just nice previews of the links provided. Other pop-up windows, like the amazon ones, are affiliate links.
On the bottom of the post, I add the message that they provide to explain the feature. I add it for completeness.
Let me know what you think about it.
Introducing Snap Shots from Snap.com
I just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of Wikipedia articles, MySpace profiles, IMDb profiles , display inline videos, RSS, MP3s, photos, stock charts and more.
Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you “look ahead,” before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.
Should you decide this is not for you, just click the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot and opt-out.
