The MotivAider: A preview

Filed Under (mindfulness, motivaider, promotion, tools) by admin on 10-11-2007

I posted on my recent discovery of ‘the MotivAider’ and now had a chance to read through the full manual.

I learned about a few mistakes I made in the past and will now try to avoid.

The Manual that they deliver (102 pages for FREE) is really excellent. It is really understandable and moreover has still quite some debt for those that want to dig a little deeper into the machinery of motivations.

The last 50 pages are devoted to some very comprehensive case studies, in which the theoretical background is made very practical. If you do not buy the MotivAider, go to their site any way and download and read the manual (you find it under resources).

They identify 3 layers:
Problems : Things you in your life that are not the way you want them to be
Goals : realistic close by terms that can be checked. Accomplishing this goal should get rid of the problem, but we all now that problems can alway be solved in different ways. The trick here is to choose such a way and to stick to it.
Action : whatever you need to do to get closer to your goal.

Dividing the problem space (the physicist talking again :-) ) gives you a much better understanding of the dynamics of the problem. It also makes you think about the problem in the first place.

Next, a reminder needs to be devised to compel you to take the appropriate action. And this over and over again, until it becomes a habit.

After a few days to a week, a most important evaluation step is carried out. This step ensures that we are actually moving closer to our goal. If not, we need to re-evaluate our reminder. Or the connection between the MotivAider’s buzz and our reminder. Any way, we need to adapt and preferably after a relatively short period.

The last step is actually to phase out the MotivAider from this particular problem as it is solved. We then assure ourselves that the problem remains solved even after stopping to use the MotivAider and can now move on to our next problem to be solved.

I will post on the breakdown of my own problem next time.

Be well. Be rich. Be great.
