Where am I with my goal?

Where am I with my goal?

When I started this blog, more than a year ago, I set myself a goal of owning 1 million dollar. It is time to see where we are.

Well, first the bad news: I do not own 1.000.000 dollar :-). Actually, since I have to pay for my online presence, I’m in the minus. Even worse, when you consider that I received only a handful of payments, I did nothing but lose :-)

Off course I learned a lot. Invaluable information I gathered (I just love this Yoda way of speaking :-) ). And indeed this is very important. But …

What if one does not apply the knowledge one has?

Isn’t is useless then?

Yes, and that is precisely my case. I have all the theoretical info, but since I do not apply it, I have no practical knowledge of what works and what not.

Why don’t I apply it? Fear of success? Lack of motivation?
Probably a bit of both. I did not make any money in the last months. This dry spell came after a period that I made roughly 1 sale every week. So that was thrilling. What did I do then that I do not do now any more? I watched my mind movies. Really, to me it is as simple as that. One needs something to keep us on track and the mind movies do just that. They keep our mind pointed in the correct direction.

So why did I stop?

Well life will trow bad things at us. Even with the best of affirmations or subliminal tapes or whatever. The real challenge, and purpose of life, is to overcome them. I failed at that. So I have to start over. Not a problem as I still have all the knowledge.

I hope that this time I can keep on track. And overcome whatever was holding me back last time.

Be Well. Be rich. Be great.

  1. Hi a year is only a short time for a new blog so don’t give up hope. It may be time to change your focus slightly and maybe try and target a more niche market.

  2. Well don’t give up just yet. It does take a while to build up anything worthwhile. Staking out a home on the internet and attracting visitors takes time. Hang in there and keep plugging away.

  3. Don’t worry, this happens to everyone. The good thing about this is you can reflect on yourself and be able to act on it.

That is certainly the keyword there..ACTION. Easy to say,eh? Well, we just need to do it if we want to stand out and make a change.

Go ahead, you can do it, dude!

    Chris

  4. As long as we learn as we go then our time is never wasted. You will get there one day as long as you keep trying and learning new things along the way.

  5. If visualization (aka “mind movies”) actually worked you’d be better off today than you were when you started. Since you aren’t, by your own admission in this post, it’s safe to say these kinds of “methods” really don’t work.

If I plug up a hole in a river dam and three days later I pull away the bracing and let the plug do all the work on its own and the water starts leaking through I didn’t fix the problem.

Same with this self-motivational stuff. If you stop applying it and it doesn’t work anymore then it never worked to begin with.

  6. Thanks for the post. Its been such a long time since your last post. I really like the post by the way. Really stimulating.

  7. Mate, 1 year is not enough. You have to work years and years before you can even think of getting that special number :). Set your goals lower and you’ll have a better chance of acheiving them and that will have an effect. Remember, behavior influences feelings not the other way around.
Set your goals low, acheive those goals and move on and you’ll feel better about it in the end.
    Cheers,

  8. It seems to me like you could benefit more by targeting your niche better. You seem to focus a lot on spiritual, law of attraction type of stuff, but I don’t see the blog setup for SEO for this type of content.

  9. Hi all, thanks for commenting on this post. It is much rewarding to see so many people involved.
2 things I would like to answer, I think my SEO is indeed a bit broad. I ave some keywords I optimize for, but I guess they are not the ones that bring in money :-)
Concerning the mind movies, as said in the post: when I watched them, I made money, when I stopped, the money also stopped. So I guess the conclusion is that they do work.
How? I have no idea. But if I find out, I will let you know.

  10. I don’t know how mind movies work as far as moving things in the universe. But I do know that in a very easy-to-see way, they keep us focused on the positive, increase confidence and enthusiasm, and all of this means we stay more energetic and keep moving forward. I’d say it’s a good thing to get back to them!

  11. Keep at it, friend. I’m in freelance writing, and it is a hard gig. It’s so easy to get discouraged, but I really think that the more you keep at it, the more you’ll get back. Fear of failure can be paralyzing, but fight through and eventually you’ll find what works. Good luck!

  12. Don’t worry, this happens to everyone. it may be time to change your focus slightly. courage..!!!!

  13. The hardest part of making money online is getting those first few sales. You have already done that before, so you can easily get going again and start making money much more quickly this time. Put your knowledge into action and you will be on your way!

  14. I had also set similar targets like you. But I found that it is not achievable and set a small target

  15. Don’t worry, this happens to everyone. The good thing about this is you can reflect on yourself and be able to act on it

  16. A goal of owning 1 million dollar from blog?
It’s very good started point, big ambition.

  17. You fail if you give up. You have to set small goals for each week. 1 million dollars is a big goal. Small goal can be something like post 10 comments on other blogs, post 2 threads in blog forums, and write 2 posts on your own blog for the week. To be successful, you have a lot to learn, and change the way you approach things. If you do the same thing over and over, you’ll get the same results over and over.

  18. If you´re working on this site for one year and you have more expenses than income then you should not be afraid. Even companies need years to get profitabel. But you have to consider one point: You must generate MORE turnover! The costs are not the real problem in your case i guess.
