New Blog Template

Filed Under (money, personal experience, promotion, reviews) by admin on 20-03-2008

Welcome to the new layout of the blog. It is called the atomic blog theme and I purchased it from Atomic blogging.

It is a nice and clean theme, plus it has a few addons that the previous theme was lacking. One of the most imoportant of them was the absence of a recent posts and a recent comments section. These are, I think, very usefull for a good user experience.

The not so nice thing about it is that not everything is as easy to change. For instance, there was some advertisement on the right side, and it was hard coded. I actually needed to change the template design for it to dissapear. Also, the adsense units I put in overlap with my entrecard widget, so this is not so nice either.

The package comes with good documentation though. A very detailed book (more for beginners, but I leaarned a trick or two also) and some video’s and info on great plugins.

All in all, I’d recommend the package, especially if you are a beginner or looking for inspiration when things go a bit slow. The package can be bought from here.

Moreover, coming with such a change, i’d be really interested to hear what you find about it. Likes, dislikes and possible things to improve. I’d be very grateful if you could leave some suggestions in the comments.

Be well. Be rich. Be great.

Get a guaranteed parking spot: always, everywhere (by using the law of attraction)

Filed Under (law of attraction, personal experience) by admin on 25-02-2008

If you ever wanted to put the ‘law of attraction‘ to the test, start of by getting a parking spot. Wherever, whenever.

I used to be rally bad at this. I just knew that I would not get a parking space close by. So I parked far from wherever I needed to be. Or I drove around for quite some time, often unsuccessful.

And then came the law of attraction. Visualize and belief we are told. And slowly indeed the parking spots appeared. As if by magic. Closer and closer, sooner and sooner. For me this is the proof that the law works.

So how did I do it?

  • Visualize that you get this parking spot. This does not need to take a long time. Just see your car parked close by where you need to be.
  • If you do not know the perimeter, just imagine how you think it would be
  • Be confident that you will find a parking spot. Now this is a tricky one. As you experience told you that you will not get any. You just are not that lucky. But persevere. And try to look for improvements. These will give you faith.

Once faith is born, the rest is easy. And the parking spots will always appear, as if by magic.

update: in the system where one uses the 7 laws of attraction, this would correspond to the law of manifestation.

Be well. Be rich. Ge great.

Car accidents and the law of attraction.

Slipping Car

Many people use ‘the law of attraction‘ in an intuitive way. A good example of this is the way you are taught to behave when your car starts slipping.

Years ago, I won a course in in what we in Belgium call ’slip school’. In this school one is taught how to react when the road is slippery and/or your car gets out of control.
They followed a quite strange procedure: 2 students were put in a car, together with an instructor, and were told to try to go over a wet track on which 2 obstacles were placed. We were also explicitly to avoid those obstacles. I cannot remember exactly, but in my memory, we all spun the car around. Several times, up to the point where we became a bit nervous for not getting the answer to this puzzle.
After being convinced that we could not do it, the instructor pointed us to a little sign at the end of the track, passed the 2 obstacles. He said: ”Now concentrate on this sign and try to steer towards it”. And the miracle happened! 9 out of 10 students cold now safely pass the obstacles.

So indeed, they use the law of attraction in an intuitive way. It is known since a long time that, when driving, we tend to go in the direction that we look. We do it every day: when you take a turn of 90 degrees, you just look wherever you want to go and your hands make the appropriate movements. Without a lot of conscious thought. We were thought how to do it, off course, but still. A lot is processed below our level of awareness. (update: actually, in the framework of the 7 laws of attraction, this correspond to the ‘law of paradoxical intent’)
This again is a striking example that we should always look at where we want to be and not at what we want to avoid. What is valid for driving a car is certainly valid in life. Look at where you want to go, and there you will go.

Be well. Be rich. Be great.
