Pay Per Play: make money of every visitor to your site

Filed Under (technical, tools) by admin on 02-04-2008

Pay Per Play
I have joined a new add network that does not require selling nor clicks. It is called Pay Per Play and plays audio add of 5 sec on you site.

What’s the deal?

Each time a visitor comes to your site, a small 5 sec audio add is played. You get paid for (almost) every page impression. The website claims:

NetAudioAds charges advertisers on a CPM basis. In other words we charge in units of 1000 ads. Each 1000 ads currently costs the advertiser anywhere from $20 CPM (per thousand) to $26 CPM depending on targeting options they may select.

25% (your cut) of the $20 CPM is a $3.50 CPM which is well above industry standard CPM rates. There is no other form of advertising that compares to this commission structure except for per impression banner advertising. The revenue you receive from banner ads compared to audio ads is significant.

That is actually a lot. Especially if you have some traffic to your site. I think that it might be a bit over rated, but even a quarter of that would already be a big amount of money.

They also have a 3 tier system: you get 25% of tier 1 and 5% of tier 2 and 3.

What’s the catch?

Well, unfortunately the company owners seem to have a bad reputation on paying their debts. However, this time, there is a weekly payout so we should see a lot of negative comments all over the internet if they are not paying out. let’s wait.

An other comment often made is that audio adds might scare away site visitors from returning. This might be valid, but I really do not believe so. I could be wrong though.

So, I run these kinds of adds now. Let me know in the comments whether you find them intrusive or not. Also, if they played or not :-). It would not be strange if they did not play since the adds will be geo targeted. There is no need to play an add for a pizza place in New-York if you live in Europe.

Conclusion

I joined PPP adds and look forward to what they have to offer. We’ll see how it goes, but I am hopeful.

On a side note. My offer of 1st of april for a FREE ADD SPACE on this site, still holds. It was NOT a joke.

Win an add spot on this site

Filed Under (links, technical, tools) by admin on 01-04-2008

You might have noticed that I have widgets displaying adds on this site, next to the entrecard widget. This add spot is for sale, and according to Show your add here, thy are valued at at least 5$ a week. No wonder nobody want s to buy them :-)

Anyway, since this price is probably a bit to high, I offer them for free to the community.Well, not quite for free. You need to link (dofollow!) to this page and to the homepage (to the home page with the keywords ‘motivaider’ or ‘mindfulness practice’) and then I’ll draw 2 lucky ones on the 15th of April. The add will run for one month, after which I will run a new contest.

So, you do not need to make a new post, just insert the links in your weekly wrap up is fine with me. Then comment on this post to tell me where I can find the post.

That’ all.

Good luck.

I finally moved to WordPress

Filed Under (technical) by admin on 05-11-2007

The site was down for a couple hours while the DNS was updated and while I figured out how to make the remapping work on dreamhost. This proved to be so simple that nobody found it important enough to write it down. As a result I looked for ours through the internet where I just needed to change a directory :-)

Anyway,  I’m back and still getting rich the certain way.

Be well. Be Rich. Be Great.
